In addition to press relations, the employees of the press office, led by RBr Daniel Uebber, are also responsible for internal and external public relations.
Internal public relations work includes, in particular, the dissemination of information from the authority management or, for example, from project groups to the other employees of KPB Mettmann. A key tool here is the internal Internet, known as "Intrapol".
External public relations is broadly diversified. This includes in particular
- Representing the authority to the public
- Processing general inquiries from citizens
- Coordinating and organizing photo and art exhibitions
- Guided tours for visitor groups in the Mettmann office building
- Supporting domestic and foreign visitor groups
- Coordinating and participating in the planning and implementation of high-profile projects and events, particularly in the area of crime prevention and traffic prevention
- External presentation of the authority by creating photo and image material as well as logos for publications of all kinds
- Involvement in the creation of brochures, flyers and posters, taking into account the corporate design of the NRW police
- Assistance and support for police recruitment
- Contact with citizens' groups, associations, initiatives and police-related clubs and associations
- Coordinating and supporting campaigns by other departments involved in public relations work, in particular the district and municipalities associated with the district
- Support for film, television and radio play projects
- Advice and support for authors on police-related portrayals
- Creation and maintenance of the Mettmann police website
