According to the state press law, the police are obliged to answer questions from the press. This task is assigned to the press office under the direction of RBr Daniel Uebber . The employees of the press office provide information about events relevant to the police.
The tasks include in particular
- Preparing daily press reports
- Responding to inquiries from media representatives
- being available for interviews with journalists (so-called "sound bites")
- organizing press conferences
- Evaluating the daily press / media analysis
In special situations, such as demonstrations, high-profile criminal cases or major incidents, the press office staff set up a mobile press office at the scene of the incident to provide the media with up-to-date information.
Organizationally, the press office reports directly to the district administrator as head of the authority.
Office hours
Monday to Thursday 07:30 am - 04:00 pm
Friday 07:30 am-02:30 pm
Outside these hours, the Mettmann police control center will take over the press work and can be reached at the same telephone number.
