The prevention of traffic accidents is seen as a task for society as a whole. In addition to the areas of traffic monitoring (control and sanctions), traffic accident prevention and victim protection are of great importance.

The traffic commissioner's office also works together with the traffic service. Its spectrum ranges from simple "fender benders" to serious and very serious accidents with sometimes fatal consequences. In addition, all hit-and-run accidents are dealt with here. It is also responsible for all criminal offenses with an impact on road safety and all traffic offences.
