Erkelenz/Hückelhoven-Baal - At around 9.20 p.m. on Thursday evening (June 13), two previously unknown young men set fire to a garbage can at platform 1 of Erkelenz train station. They then made off in the direction of a cab rank, where another garbage can caught fire shortly afterwards. Finally, another bin caught fire in the Tenholter Straße / Kölner Straße area. The fire department extinguished the flames. A garbage can had previously been set on fire at Baal railroad station.

The two suspects were around 17 to 18 years old. One was around 185 centimeters tall, wore grey jogging trousers and a grey sweatshirt jacket and got into a cab at the cab rank. His companion was around 175 centimetres tall, wore black denim trousers and walked towards the hospital.
