(jd) The employee of a company on Spenger Straße noticed a break-in on Monday (19.5.) at around 9.30 a.m.: Previously unknown suspects forcibly opened the window of a warehouse on Spenger Straße over the course of the weekend. They then entered the warehouse through the window and ransacked it for stolen goods. According to initial investigations, however, the stranger or strangers then left the warehouse without any stolen goods.
On Sunday, the employee of a company located in the immediate vicinity of the warehouse noticed that a truck had been forced open: The window of a side door had been smashed using an object to gain access to the tools inside the vehicle. Among other things, the unknown person or persons stole two drills and two toolboxes from the vehicle. The damage is in the four-digit range. Whether and to what extent the two incidents are connected is still under investigation. The Herford criminal investigation department is therefore asking possible witnesses who observed anything unusual in the Spenger Straße area at the weekend to contact them on 05221/8880.
