Unknown persons attack ice cream vending machines

(jd) An attentive witness noticed on Monday morning (5.5.) at around 6.30 a.m. that the front of an ice cream vending machine had been broken open and informed the police. The vending machine is located on a property on Lübbecker Straße. The unknown perpetrator or perpetrators apparently pried open the front of the vending machine using a tool, causing considerable damage. They stole a cash box from inside the machine. The video footage from a surveillance camera is still being analyzed. The damage amounts to around 10,000 euros. The Herford criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation and is asking any witnesses who can provide information to contact them on 05221/8880.
