Heinsberg - On Monday afternoon (15 September), a 79-year-old man from Heinsberg left a discount grocery store on Unterbrucher Straße at around 12.30 p.m. and was approached in the parking lot by an unknown man who asked him to change some coins.
The senior citizen opened his wallet and offered the man a chip for a shopping cart from his coin box.
However, the stranger was not interested. He now reached into the wallet himself. The older man initially asked him to refrain from doing so without success. Suddenly, the stranger let go of the wallet and left the parking lot in the direction of Unterbrucher Straße.
Only then did the helpful pensioner notice that all the banknotes had disappeared from his wallet.
The perpetrator was around 60 to 65 years old, about 170 centimetres tall and had a full head of grey hair. He was wearing dark clothing, looked Eastern European and had a noticeable gap in his upper jaw.
