On Sunday evening (20.10.), police officers were called to a traffic accident in Herford at the Goebenstraße / B239 intersection. At around 18:45 at the time of the accident, a 28-year-old woman from Friesenhagen was driving her Opel Corsa out of town on the bypass road. The Opel driver intended to turn left towards Hiddenhausen. In doing so, she overlooked a 42-year-old man from Bünde in his Mercedes Sprinter, who was traveling in the opposite direction. This resulted in a collision at the junction, causing severe damage to both vehicles. Both vehicles had to be towed away from the scene of the accident. Property damage of around 11,000 euros was caused. The 28-year-old suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision, which required outpatient treatment at Herford Hospital.
