On Tuesday, August 26, at around 10:45 a.m., a traffic accident occurred on Westpromenade in which a 63-year-old female cyclist was injured. She stated that she had stopped on her bike near a flower store to cross Westpromenade in the direction of Gangolfusstraße when a black SUV approached her from the left and stopped. As she assumed that the driver would let her ride ahead, the woman got on her bike and rode off. At the same time, however, the driver of the SUV also pulled up and there was a collision between the bicycle and the passenger side of the SUV. The cyclist fell to the ground and injured herself. The car driver stopped and apologized. After agreeing to clear the road and move to the side, the woman drove off in the SUV without leaving her personal details. The driver of a white van, who had stopped briefly and asked how the cyclist was, also drove on without giving any personal details.
The female SUV driver was around 50 years old and appeared to be Indian. She was around 160 centimetres tall, slim and wearing a summer dress.
In order to clarify what happened, the police are now looking for the SUV driver, a witness in a white van and other people who witnessed the accident.
