Geilenkirchen - At around 11.20 a.m. on Saturday morning (September 20), an elderly woman went to a bank on Haihover Straße to withdraw cash from an ATM.
During the withdrawal process, an unknown problem occurred. A young woman who was also at the ATMs advised the senior citizen to try one of the other ATMs.
After completing her banking transactions, the elderly lady walked home with her walker.
At the front door in Gerhard-Schümmer-Straße, a man and the young woman, who had previously attracted attention in the bank, approached the pensioner. The man, a southern man about 175 centimeters tall, wearing dark clothes, carrying a black rucksack and with short, curly black hair, distracted the woman by asking for an address. The young woman, also a Southerner with long black hair and a white jacket, was about 20 years old. She stole the wallet from the handbag lying on the rollator. The duo then fled in the direction of An den Schlosswiesen.
