(hd) At 3:50 p.m. on Friday afternoon, two drivers were driving their cars on the Westfalenring in Enger in the direction of Bünde. A black VW Passat was driving in the opposite direction at this time. The driver of this vehicle intended to turn off Westfalenring onto Herforder Straße. In doing so, he disregarded the priority of the two oncoming cars. The driver of a Fiat Doblo approaching first initiated emergency braking and swerved to avoid the turning car. The driver of a VW Crafter behind him was then unable to brake in time and hit the Fiat. The black Passat drove off in the direction of Herforder Straße. The damage to the vehicles involved in the accident is estimated at around 8500 euros. The driver of the black VW Passat is now suspected of driving away from the scene of the accident without permission. The traffic commissioner's office is asking possible witnesses to contact them on 05221 / 888-0.
