(hd) On Thursday morning (06.02.2025), an 84-year-old woman went to a supermarket on Waltgeristraße in Herford at around 11:00 a.m. to do some shopping. When she finally wanted to pay for the goods at the checkout, she noticed that her wallet was missing. It had apparently been stolen from her jacket pocket. In addition to cash, the wallet also contained identification documents. The criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation and is asking any witnesses who can provide information about the theft to call 05221 / 8880. To prevent pickpocketing, the police advise people to carry cash, payment cards and ID documents in different, closed inside pockets of their clothing - as close to the body as possible.
