Hit and run

(jd) Several attentive witnesses observed a traffic accident on Monday evening (21.07.): At 7.45 pm, a previously unknown woman was driving her Seat on Nordbahnstraße coming from Hochstraße. She collided with a VW parked on the side of the road. Instead of fulfilling her duties as the person responsible for a traffic accident, the woman continued driving in the direction of Weihestraße. The witnesses informed the police and gave a description of the driver as well as the license plate number of the Seat. A short time later, another witness contacted the police. She had observed a woman getting out of a damaged Seat in a parking lot on Weihestraße, removing the license plates and placing them inside the vehicle. The officers established on the spot that this woman was the person who had caused the accident, a 30-year-old from Bad Oeynhausen. She showed clear signs of alcohol consumption. A test carried out at the scene confirmed the assumption, so that the woman was taken to the Löhne police station to have blood samples taken. The 30-year-old is not in possession of a driving license. The officers prohibited her from driving vehicles requiring a license. After the police measures were completed, the woman was released on the spot. The vehicles were damaged to the tune of around 9,000 euros.
