(jd) An attentive witness noticed a VW driving into a parking space in a parking lot on Sudetenstraße at around 6.50 p.m. on Sunday (7.7.). The rear of the vehicle hit a hedge, which was badly dented. The damage amounted to several hundred euros. The driver of the car and her passenger drove away from the scene of the accident without bothering to settle the claim. During their investigations, the police officers called to the scene came across a 20-year-old woman from Herford who had been driving the vehicle and did not have a valid driver's license. She was banned from driving vehicles requiring a license. In addition to the charge of driving without a license, she also faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident without permission. A separate charge was brought against the owner of the VW, a 24-year-old man from Herford, because he allowed a person without a driver's license to drive the vehicle. The VW also sustained three-digit property damage.
