Heinsberg - On Thursday evening (February 20), a traffic accident occurred on Kolpingstraße (L230) in which two people were seriously injured.
At around 10.20 p.m., a 20-year-old man from Heinsberg was driving his car on Kolpingstraße coming from Unterbruch in the direction of Kirchhoven. Immediately after the junction with Dresdener Straße and a traffic island, the young man from Heinsberg collided head-on with the car of a 51-year-old woman from Heinsberg in the oncoming lane. Both people sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and had to be taken to hospital for further treatment. Kolpingstraße remained closed for the duration of the accident investigation.
As different accounts of the accident were given, the police are looking for further witnesses to the incident. The traffic commissioner's office is specifically asking: Who saw the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident pass the traffic island? In this context, the police are also looking for the driver of a car that may have been overtaken by the Heinsberger beforehand.
