Alerted by an iCall emergency call system, police officers were called to a traffic accident in Obrock in Kirchlengern on Sunday night. At the scene of the accident, the officers came across a 30-year-old man from Kirchlengern who had previously been involved in an accident with his BMW X3. According to investigations so far, the 30-year-old was driving along Anton-Hettich-Straße in Kirchlengern. He lost control of his vehicle at the junction with the Obrock road and skidded into a garden wall and the adjacent fence. The BMW was severely damaged (approx. EUR 10,000) and had to be towed away from the scene of the accident. The Kirchlengern fire department cleaned up the spillage. During the accident investigation, the officers noticed the first signs of impairment due to possible alcohol consumption. The subsequent alco-test confirmed the suspicions. A blood sample was taken from him at the hospital and his driving license was provisionally confiscated. He was clearly prohibited from driving motor vehicles requiring a license.
