Drunk driving

(jd) During a patrol, officers from the Herford district police authority noticed a cyclist on Friday (08.08.) at 9.37 pm. The cyclist was riding on the left-hand sidewalk of Salzufler Straße without lights and then crossed the road to the right-hand side of the road to continue in the direction of Bad Salzuflen. The unknown driver was asked to stop. He initially continued his journey, but then stopped. After he came to a standstill, he only managed with difficulty not to fall into an adjacent bush with his bicycle. An odor of alcohol was detected on the breath of the man, a 35-year-old from Bad Salzuflen. A breath alcohol test carried out on the spot was clearly positive. The man was then taken to the Herford police station to have a blood sample taken. After the police measures were completed, the 35-year-old was released on the spot.
