(jd) An attentive witness noticed two men unknown to him walking south on Alte Dorfstraße at 1.15 a.m. on Wednesday night (June 19). Both young-looking men were holding various license plates in their hands. The witness spoke to the slender men, who were between 180cm and 190cm tall, about the license plates, whereupon they quickly fled on foot along Westerbergstraße in the direction of Hambachweg. The police officers called to the scene discovered that the license plates had been stolen from a total of seven vehicles. An Opel, a Skoda and two VWs were affected in Alte Dorfstraße, a VW each in Parkstraße and Pemberville Platz and a Renault in An den Seppen. One of the two people was wearing a blue jogging suit at the time of the crime, the other person was dressed completely in black. The criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation and is asking any other witnesses who can provide information about the incident or the two unknown persons to call 05221/8880 or any police station.
