Selfkant-Süsterseel - An assault occurred on the Jabeeker Weg on Sunday (September 7). At around 2.40 p.m., a 25-year-old woman was riding her inline skates on the cycle path in the direction of the Netherlands. She was wearing over-ear headphones. Shortly beforehand, she had had a verbal altercation with a man and a woman who were riding their bicycles. The cyclists stopped just before the Rodebach and got off their bikes. When the young woman tried to ride past them, the man hit her on the back of the head, causing her to fall and lose her headphones. The unidentified man kicked the headphones and threw them into the adjacent field. The man and his companion, who gave the 25-year-old the middle finger, then got on their bikes and rode on towards the border.
The man was around 45 to 55 years old and had a slim build. He was wearing a dark cap, sunglasses and a yellow-green T-shirt and spoke with a Dutch accent. His female companion was about the same age, strong and had curly shoulder-length blonde hair.
