Heinsberg-Oberbruch - On June 19 (Thursday), a traffic accident occurred on Richard-Wagner-Straße in which a cyclist suffered minor injuries.
The 18-year-old was riding her bike on Richard-Wagner-Straße in the direction of Parkstraße shortly before 8 am. Approximately 20 to 30 meters before the junction, the young woman intended to change from the right to the left side of the road in order to get onto the left-side cycle path of Parkstraße. According to her own account, she stretched out her left arm to indicate the change of lane side. At the same time, a dark green small car approached from behind, traveling in the same direction.
The driver, an older woman with short light brown hair and wearing glasses, hit the rear wheel of the woman from Heinsberg. The collision caused the cyclist to stumble and hit the left side of her body against a lamppost. She suffered minor injuries as a result.
The driver of the small car drove off in an unknown direction without looking after the injured woman.
The police are now looking for the driver of the vehicle and witnesses who observed the accident and can provide information on the identity of the woman who fled.
