(jd) Last night (30.10.), a 52-year-old man from Herford was driving his Ferrari on Stedefreunder Straße coming from Laarer Straße. At around 0.55 a.m., a black quad bike came towards him near the junction with Diebrocker Straße: The quad bike turned off Diebrocker Straße into Stedefreunder Straße at high speed in the direction of Herford, cutting into the 52-year-old's lane. In order to avoid a collision, the latter swerved to the right. The Ferrari collided with a tree at the side of the road. The previously unknown driver of the quad bike initially stopped about 100 meters away, but then continued on his way. The 52-year-old and his 22-year-old co-driver were uninjured in the accident, with property damage amounting to around 30,000 euros. The Herford police traffic commissioner's office has taken over the investigation.
