(jd) Previously unknown perpetrators took advantage of a resident's brief absence to break into an apartment building in Schwarzenmoorstraße yesterday (19.2.). When the Herford resident returned to his apartment at 8.30 p.m., he noticed that cupboards and drawers had been opened and apparently ransacked. The police officers who were called determined that the unknown perpetrator or perpetrators had first used a tool to open the patio door between 5.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. in order to gain access to the apartment. After an initial inspection, cash in the three-digit range is missing. The criminal investigation department is asking any witnesses who saw anything unusual in the Schwarzenmoorstraße area yesterday to call 05221/8880.
