BMW driver hits cyclist

(jd) A traffic accident occurred on Südring at 8.35 a.m. yesterday (02.09.). A 40-year-old man from Bünde was driving his BMW on Schwartemeierstraße in the direction of Südring. At the junction there, he intended to cross the Südring in order to continue his journey on Winkelstraße. As the man entered the junction, a cyclist on the cycle path on Südring approached at the same time. The BMW hit the 16-year-old from Bünde with his bicycle, causing him to hit the hood and fall. The 16-year-old was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to hospital by an ambulance. The parents or guardians were informed about the traffic accident. Property damage of around 1,600 euros was caused.
