(jd) A 33-year-old woman from Loehn parked her car on a street called Unter den Linden at 8.30 a.m. on Monday (June 24). When she returned to her BMW at 9.30 a.m., she noticed that there was various damage to the left-hand side of the vehicle. However, the person involved in the accident was not there. Instead, the woman found a receipt on her windshield on which it was noted that a witness had observed the accident. However, the witness in question did not leave any contact details, but did leave a license plate number. After checking the police systems, the officers called to the scene discovered that the license plate was for a Ford Transit registered to a 38-year-old man from Neuss. The investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing.
The Herford police traffic department is therefore asking the witness who left the message on the windshield or other witnesses who can provide information about the incident to contact them on 05221/8880. The damage to the BMW is around 1000 euros.
