Hückelhoven - Last Wednesday (June 18), a group of around 10 people were on Hartlepooler Platz. The youths mobbed passers-by and threw bottles around. At around 11.30 p.m., a local resident observed how the group violently ripped a bench from its moorings and placed it about 30 meters away on Doktor-Ruben-Straße. The approaching driver of a VW Golf recognized the obstacle in time in the darkness and was able to get out of the way.
As a patrol car approached, the group members fled in different directions.
Three of the youths could be described in more detail: They all appeared southern, were between 165 and 175 centimeters tall, about 14 to 17 years old, dark-haired and of thin build.
One was dressed in a grey T-shirt with a purple print on the back, short black sports shorts and black shoes. Another suspect was wearing a white T-shirt, short light-colored sports shorts and grey shoes. The third person was wearing a dark blue T-shirt, denim trousers and black shoes.
The police are now looking for witnesses who can provide information on the identity of the young people and the driver of the VW Golf, who was able to avoid the obstacle in time.
