On Sunday evening (18.8.), police officers were alerted by a 70-year-old woman from Enger after she had been beaten by a previously unknown male person. The woman from Enger was in her garden on Minden-Weseler-Weg at around 8.30 p.m. when she could clearly hear people arguing at a bus stop. On investigating, she noticed a couple arguing, with the man trying to hit the woman. The witness went between the two people to stop the man from further physical attacks. The man then punched the 70-year-old woman in the face and fled in the direction of Kaiserstraße. The victim tried to help the woman, but she left the scene in the same direction. The situation was observed by another passing witness, who was able to describe the suspect as follows:
- approx. 20-25 years old - approx. 180cm tall - Black T-shirt - Short red trousers - Southern appearance
The criminal investigation department has started the investigation and is asking further witnesses to call 05221-8880.
