On Wednesday (April 3, 2024), Crime Director Rüdiger Korp presented the crime statistics of the Krefeld police to interested media representatives. The Head of the Crime Directorate was supported by Michael Heetlage (Crime Management Unit).

In addition to focal points such as the sexual abuse of children, increasing case numbers in the area of juvenile crime and violence in public spaces were discussed.

In particular, the work of the special investigation group set up to combat the sexual abuse of children, known as "Stylian", was once again positively highlighted.

"Thanks to EG Stylian, we were able to shed light on the dark field and sustainably increase the clearance rate," said Rüdiger Korp.

Mr. Korp also praised the work of the drug help center and said with regard to the change in cannabis legislation since April 1: "We have to learn to deal with the new framework conditions."
