Organization of the Euskirchen District Police Department
The Euskirchen district police authority is responsible for the sixth largest district in North Rhine-Westphalia in terms of area.
Located in the immediate vicinity of the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Kingdom of Belgium, the Euskirchen district police authority covers an area of more than 1249 square kilometers.
The district of Euskirchen includes the municipalities of Blankenheim, Dahlem, Hellenthal, Kall, Nettersheim and Weilerswist as well as the towns of Bad Münstereifel, Euskirchen, Mechernich, Schleiden and Zülpich. The most populous town is Euskirchen with around 56,000 inhabitants.
The head of the Euskirchen district police authority, which has around 300 employees and is responsible for more than 190,000 citizens in the district, is District Administrator Markus Ramers.
Reporting to him is the head of the police department, police director Harald Mertens.

Directorate for emergency response/deployment
The Euskirchen police station and the Schleiden police station, including the district officers, belong to the Emergency Response Directorate.
Crime Directorate
The Crime Directorate includes Criminal Investigation Departments 1-3. Department 1 also includes the Crime Prevention/Victim Protection Unit.
Transport Directorate
The Traffic Directorate consists of the Traffic Commissioner's Office and the Traffic Service.
Central Tasks Directorate
The Central Tasks Directorate (ZA) consists of the ZA 1, ZA 2 and ZA 3 departments.
