Safe on the road
How children cross the road safely
We have created practice videos for children and parents that address dangerous situations in road traffic. So you can practice even during the corona pandemic and prepare your children for road traffic with our digital help!

As road safety advisors for the Essen police, it is important to us to inform our citizens about how they can best prepare their children to behave in road traffic.

The measures taken during the coronavirus pandemic are unfortunately limiting our usual options in this area at the moment. So that you, dear parents, can practise crossing the road with your children despite the special circumstances, we have prepared some practice and explanatory videos on the following topics

- Crossing a road without an obstacle in sight
- Crossing a road with a visual obstacle
- Crossing a road with a crossing aid
- Crossing a road at a pedestrian crossing
- Crossing a road at traffic lights

Before that, however, we invite you to watch our introductory video and a video in which we explain important terms

The videos are also summarized and explained in a child-friendly way by our puppets Tom and Pia.

Now we hope you enjoy watching the videos and practising!
