Health is an important factor for our well-being and performance, both in our private and professional lives, because personal well-being and the performance of the individual go hand in hand.

The actions and initiatives of our organization serve to implement a holistic, official health management system. The coordination of the official health management of the police (BGMPol) is carried out centrally at the LKA NRW.

The range of sports offered by the LKA NRW includes badminton, basketball, soccer, running, Nordic walking/XCO walking, Pilates, cycling, back training, self-defense, over-50 fitness and yoga. The running courses are geared to the individual abilities of the participants. There is a suitable course on offer for both beginners and passionate runners. Newcomers and returning runners receive long-term training support from sports instructors and expert staff.

In addition to the weekly sports program, the sports committee organizes a "FIT UP" once a month. Special sports courses such as body workout, functional fitness and rehab sports as well as participation in lectures on all aspects of health are offered. Lecturers include employees from the renowned Cologne Sports University and qualified sports instructors as well as other specialist speakers from within and outside the NRW police force.

The LKA NRW also offers its employees a varied program of information, tips and instructions on holistic health promotion as part of an annual health day.

Different advice and support services, occupational health and safety measures, a parent-child office, a childcare contract with the "Betrieblich unterstützte Kinderbetreuung" agency, flexible working hours, the option of alternating teleworking and many other aspects all meet the requirements of a "healthy" workplace. These offers are aimed at all employees at LKA NRW.

To consider and promote this holistic approach is not only the responsibility of the individual, but also the responsibility and duty of care of all managers.
